“The only value I knew was my body.” - Bonnie, FCF
When Bonnie visited Bolivia to serve with Project Suma, she graciously shared her story with us.
“Don’t give up!… It all makes a difference.” She encouraged our team, recounting those who had poured into her life along the way. “The seeds planted are not in vain.”
She shared from her own lived experience - pain and abuse from her earliest memories. And then she shared how life is possible despite it all. She was a sign of hope for those who share similar experiences, and a powerful example of the power and healing that comes when we share our stories with others.
We believe in actively listening to survivors voices. We’re deliberately working to break through lies of shame that allow abuse to fester and multiply. We believe full transformation comes when wrongs are brought into the light.
Would you pray for more courageous truth-tellers to arise in Bolivia? We long for justice and freedom to come quickly.
