We hope to facilitate a relationship of mutual giving and receiving between you and your sponsored child. Out of our abundance, we can give a child a “hand up” on their future. By providing funds for their schooling or vocational training, as well as other basic needs (food, clothing, etc.), we can help them realize their full potential. In return for your financial support, this child is able to give back to you through sharing their lives and stories with you.
You will not only be partnering with the child, but with Project Suma staff serving in El Alto. Staff will send information on your child at least three times a year, and we encourage you to also send updates and notes as you can. Your giving enables us to serve children here on a more holistic level.

Your support is dedicated to children that are participants of Project Suma programming. We work with women who have experienced sexual exploitation and their families.
Many of the children are confronting situations of poverty, hunger, abuse and violence. In the Children’s Program, we respond to these realities by providing after-school tutoring, nutrition, leadership training, discipleship and psychological support.

By donating $42/month, you support a child with the following benefits provided through Project Suma:
Nutrition: needed food supplies and attention in crisis situations to reduce vulnerability.
Housing: rent or safe housing for families in crisis, and occasionally providing for other basic needs (bedding, clothing, furniture), as needed.
Protection: legal support (basic documentation and legal procedures, intervention and protection in cases of abuse or negligence).
Health: promotion of physical health through workshops and sports activities, and support to access medical attention if needed.
Psychological and Emotional Support: individual and group therapy with the support of trauma-informed professionals.
Education and Skills Training: school supplies, tutoring and academic support and workshops (leadership, violence prevention, safe touch, hygiene and personal development).
**Because of COVID, schools are giving classes online, but not all students have adequate devices or internet connection; with your support we can bring these services to more children and allow them to continue their education.
Spiritual Growth: discipleship and guidance (Though not a mandatory process, we support a child's transformation. When a child expresses interest, we provide the materials, teaching and guidance of trusted mentors).

Yes. We feel that your relationship with the child is more important than the amount you give. These areas are just suggestions for how your gifts can be directed. If you would still like to partner with a child, you can support with the amount you choose. Also, please feel free to contribute more as you feel led —additional donations will help pay for other expenses as well as special occasions, emergency supplies, gifts or family needs (such as clothes, furniture, rent, etc.)
If you want to give a special gift to the child (for his/her birthday, any events or just as a gift), you can do it (More details on the next question).

The money you donate will go directly to the financial support and services of your child. Alternative giving options are also available.

We ask that you commit to supporting your child for at least a year. Many of our kids have lost close family members and struggle with abandonment issues when people come and go from their lives. Please take your commitment to your child seriously. If you should become unable to continue supporting your child financially at any time, please contact us with as much prior notice as possible.

Yes, there are. We take child protection seriously and these protocols are in place to protect and honor the child and their family's privacy and integrity.
1) Do not share any photos you will receive on any social media platform. These are for your use only.
2) If you would like to share about your child publicly, please ask us for permission. We will contact the family and ask for a signed consent.
3) Do not contact the families without the consent of Project Suma; this is to avoid any misunderstanding between parties.
-
One report (every 4 months) on the development of the child from Project Suma team.
One letter or contact from the child to you (June and December), besides any extra communication you would want (in coordination with Project Suma Contact).
